Christopher R. Tompkins

Christopher R. Tompkins will be The Tatnall School's 11th Head of School. This appointment, effective July 1, 2017. He was formerly head of School at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock, Arkansas and Perkiomen School in Pennsburg,Pennsylvania. Tompkins served on the board of the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools (ADVIS) from 2010 to 2015, serving as president from 2013 to 2015, and on the National Association of Independent Schools’ (NAIS) School and Student Services Task Force. He earned bachelor’s degrees in history and government from Colby College and a master’s degree of social science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
