Interior view of the Dominy Woodworking Shop at the Henry Francis DuPont Winterthur Museum in Winterthur, Delaware. It was reconstructed from architectural drawings of the original shop which stood as part of the Dominy house in East Hampton, New York, from 1715 to 1946. Direct descendants of the Dominy craftsmen kept together and preserved the craftsmen’s shop equipment, tools, and manuscript material on their original site until 1946 thus preserving the only complete record of craftsmen working in colonial America and the New Republic.
