The front section of the Eyjafjallajoekull glacier was washed away by flooding caused by a volcanic erruption under the glacierf on Wednesday 14 April 2010. More than 700 people were evacuated from their homes and Icelandic Route 1 was damaged in the resultion flood. This is the second Volcanic eruption in the area. Photo by Jim Graham.
